Spotlight on SAP: Butler Supply Selects itelligence as SAP Solution Partner
Leader in Electrical, Plumbing and Communications Supply Distribution Selects All-in-One it.wholesale Solution to Enhance Multiple Business Operations
itelligence recently announced that Butler Supply, a leader in electrical, plumbing and communications supply distribution, has selected itelligence's it.wholesale, an SAP All-in-One solution, to improve its purchasing inventory levels, support online sales services and enable continued operations excellence and business expansion.
Butler chose it.wholesale because it combines the full-service functionality of SAP with unique solutions tailored by itelligence to best fit Butler’s needs and timeline for rapid implementation. According to Bill Immer, Butler’s vice president of information systems, “We looked at other options for ERP solutions specific to our industry and SAP provided the most comprehensive product by far. With it.wholesale, we are implementing industry best practices that we can leverage through all facets of our business.”
itelligence’s solution will allow Butler customers to access online invoices, place orders on the Web and take advantage of Internet shipment tracking. Commenting on SAP’s robust online functionality, Immer said, “We’re looking forward to being in real time.”
During the initial evaluation process, Butler has recognized the capabilities of the SAP All-in-One solution to contribute to organic change management. Butler’s previous system produced islands of data, which created discrepancies in work-rates and individual productivity. Now, SAP will seamlessly integrate data in a fraction of the time previously required, while enabling employees to work in a more integrated, collaborative manner. Immer stated, “This creates an opportunity to take a look at the system as a whole and realize measurable company-wide efficiencies.”
“We are delighted to welcome Butler Supply to our distribution customer base in the midmarket business space,” said Steve Niesman, itelligence president and CEO. “itelligence will continue to provide valuable, hands-on support throughout the implementation process to ensure the highest level of service and attention to Butler’s unique business objectives.”

Did You Know? IDW Hot Fact
The Pricing Unit of Measure (UOM or U/M) used in the Industry Data Warehouse (IDW) is an industry standard? The abbreviations allowed (PE, HP, HF and TP) have been approved by the IDEA Standards Committee and are per ANSI.X12. For systems using older units of measure such as E, C or M, IDW provides a very easy to use transformation function that will change the standard values to those required of these systems as the data is extracted from the warehouse. IDW is a very flexible system designed to meet the industry requirements with standard products.
