IDEA recently announced that Mike Rioux, President, IDEA, will be leaving the company to pursue other career opportunities. He will continue to serve as President until the latter part of November 2007 or until a successor is chosen.
The announcement was made by IDEA Chairman of the Board and Dakota Supply Group President and CEO, Todd Kumm, on August 25.
"Although all of us at IDEA regret Mike’s departure, we respect his reasons and wish him the very best,” said Evan Gaddis, President, National Electrical Manufacturers Association, representing one half of IDEA’s ownership. “We appreciate his willingness to allow for an orderly transition and wish him the best in his future endeavors.”
Rioux played an instrumental role in shaping the company's aggressive growth and expansion during the past few years. During his tenure, IDEA grew from a fledgling organization with a staff of two, to a complement of 24 professionals. Similarly, IDEA’s customer base grew from 125 to over 900; providing data synchronization, standards and business communication services for manufacturers and distributors in the electrical industry. Additionally, hundreds of suppliers outside the electrical arena are employing IDEA’s services to comply with global data synchronization requirements.
“IDEA’s executive committee will immediately begin pursuing a capable and qualified president. In the meantime, I am confident that the current IDEA staff will continue to exceed the expectations of the customers. IDEA’s continuing goal is to synchronize the electrical industry’s product data. IDEA has made great strides, and the organization will continue to move forward. NAED and NEMA are committed to achieving synchronized electrical industry product data through IDEA” said Kumm.
